Kayaking the Ausable River

Beautiful day last summer we decided to go kayaking on the AuSable River. With slow current and lots of nice scenery it made a nice paddle. Access to the river is available on the lake side at AuSable Point or upstream at the route 9 bridge

The river forks at this point  so you can choose which way to go, once you reach Lake Champlain it’s about a 1/2 mile from one mouth to the other so it’s easy to make the loop

Directly off the upper mouth you can access the dead mouth that has lots of marsh life
