Poke-O-Moonshine Trail is located near Keeseville, New York. There are two trail options. The one starting from the campground is the original trail. A steep uphill trail with ruts and large rocks that rises 1,280 feet in 1.2 miles. The second route follows an old logging road that climbs the same height over twice the distance. Both trails merge at the old fire-watcher’s cabin foundation and continue to the summit as a single trail.

Once you reach the summit, you will see the fire tower with a 360-degree panorama from the top. Even from the ground you have breathtaking views of the High Peaks and Lake Champlain making it well worth the effort.

Fire tower was closed to the public on the day we were there so no photos from the top
